Thanks so much for visiting my site! I hope you've enjoyed your look around. I thought the best way for you to know what kind of photographer I am is to share a little bit of my photographer’s philosophy…I believe that *pictures freeze a moment in time*. Your child will never be a newborn, a toddler, or a teen again. Each age and stage has its own characteristics, emotions, and feelings. Nothing captures this better than a picture. So many emotions can be felt when viewing images of your family at all stages of life.
I remember being so frustrated when my little girl, at 4 months old, cried her little head off for our family pictures. We were on a beautiful vacation on the tiny island of Saipan, and I so wanted adorable, fun beach pictures of our little family! And what did we end up with? My 2 year old daughter playing happily in the sand with her pull-up hanging out of her shorts, my little baby turned backwards (so you can’t see the red-faced scream), and then my husband and I smiling at the camera like nothing but happiness was going on! And you know what…I {L.O.V.E} it!!! That picture captured us, just being us. It’s not perfect, and that’s what makes me smile when I look at it.
It’s the imperfections in our lives that make everything memorable and unique.
I also believe that children need to see that they are loved. When they see images *everyday* of someone loving them, how great is that for their self-image and confidence! It gives them a huge sense of self, family, tradition, and the love that encompasses them!
Pictures really do tell the stories of our lives. As a photographer, this is what motivates me the most! I love being able to capture the right expression at the right moment!
